Radiesse® and Sculptra® are both injectable collagen stimulators that offer effective ways to address the aging process and are used to correct facial lines like laugh lines, lines around the mouth, and pre-jowl folds on either side of the chin. Radiesse® is also used to improve jawline contour and to correct volume loss in the back of the hands, decreasing the visibility of wrinkles, tendons or veins. Off-label Radiesse® and Sculptra® products are both used for cheek and chin augmentation, nonsurgical buttock augmentation, hip dip augmentation and correction of cellulite. Studies have found that with the use of different dilutions, Radiesse® and Sculptra® are effective in tightening the saggy creepy skin of neck, décolleté area, arms, abdomen, knees, and elbows.
Collagen Stimulating
There are two FDA approved products that are classified as collagen biostimulators in the U.S. Calcium hydroxylapatite/ Radiesse® and Poly-L-Lactic Acid (PLLA)/Sculptra®. Radiesse® and Sculptra® are regarded as biostimulators because they activate our bodies to produce collagen. These fillers are volumizing, but also provide you with tight, thick, elastic, and smooth skin on almost all over the body. Radiesse® contains tiny calcium microspheres, whereas, Sculptra® Aesthetic contains a synthetic poly-L-lactic acid.
